Restorative justice can be an excellent additional tool for schools to use. However, community circles in many schools are the antithesis of the usual methods of interaction in a school. Students, parents, teachers, and administrators should commt to more than one year of trial. It should be seen as a developmental process for each school. Expertise need to be local and familiar. It will manifest in each school differently. Thought patterns of adults in restorative justice are as subject to bias as any and all other forms of discipline and interaction.
